Initial load - Hibernate-specific annotations are an issue

We are using the initial load DefaultHibernateSpaceDataSource stuff.

Our application is using JPA.

We are trying to do an initial load on some of our JPA classes from an Oracle database.

For the most part it works, but there are some issues that I don't know how to get around:

  1. JPA supports the optional=true attribute on the OneToOne annotation, Hibernate ignores it and only supports the hibernate-specific NotFound annotation
  2. There are many places where Hibernate requires insertable=false, updatable=false (or it will not do the load) and that screws up some of our updates in our application.

Is there a JPASpaceDataSource available that we could use? If not, what should we do?

Rick,
Did switching to latest Hibernate version make any difference?
