"Lean" Embedded Cache Configuration

I am looking to use GigaSpaces to implement in-JVM, stand-alone, non-distributed, not cluster-aware cache. I'll call it "embedded" cache to avoid confusion with "local" like in master-local topology.

This embedded cache will be used by a web application running in an application server like WebSphere.

By default a space starts up several internal services which, I'm thinking, I won't need for my embedded cache. Here is what I have so far for what I am planning on disabling in order to have a "lean" space configured:

<bean id="embeddedSpaceTemplate" class="org.openspaces.core.space.UrlSpaceFactoryBean" abstract="true"> <property name="parameters"> <props> <prop key="space-config.filters.DefaultSecurityFilter.enabled">false</prop> <prop key="space-config.filters.Statistics.enabled">false</prop> <prop key="space-config.isPrivate">true</prop> <prop key="space-config.cluster.enabled">false</prop> </props> </property>

<property name="properties"> <props> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.directory_services.jndi.enabled">false</prop> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.embedded-services.httpd.enabled">false</prop> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.directory_services.jini_lus.enabled">false</prop> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.directory_services.jini_lus.start-embedded-lus">false</prop> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.directory_services.jini_lus.unicast_discovery.enabled">false</prop> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.directory_services.jms_services.enabled">false</prop> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.directory_services.jms_services.internal-jndi.internal-jndi-enabled">false</prop> <prop key="com.j_spaces.core.container.directory_services.jms_services.ext-jndi.ext-jndi-enabled">false</prop> <prop key="com.gs.multicast.enabled">false</prop> </props> </property> </bean>

What's left is to define a bean having as parent the template above and defining the space URL in the form "/./spaceName" .

Any other services to disable or settings to configure to make the space "lean"? Say, number of threads?

Thanks in advance, Vanio

Sounds like your config is OK. No need to config the number of threads since the thread pool size will grow and shrink automatically.
