closing transaction after non-modifying operation

I want to read under a transaction so ensure consistency of the read. After the operation is performed, the api only offers commit or abort. Since no changes were made, shouldn't the transaction only be closed instead of commit/abort?

tx = createTransaction(); read(); // perform a read tx.close() // close is not available, what should be used here, commit or abort?

To ensure consistency of the read operation you should use exclusive read mode. Once you are done you can commit or abort the transaction. http://www.gigaspaces.com/wiki/displa... Shay
