Tuning gigaspaces ...

Shall I modify JAVA_OPTIONS in bin/setenv.sh to tune the performance related to JVM? or EXT_JAVA_OPTIONS? Would this setting also affects the gs-ui/gsc/gsm?

In the benchmark tools ui, what's the meaning of "thread" options? Is it simulating no. of concurrent clients accessing the space?

EXTJAVAOPTIONS is part of JAVA_OPTIONS. See the setenv called by all
The Threads is amount of concurrent threads that will be calling the
selected space operation.

Is the benchmark operations (read/write) done on the space as if embedded or remote?

The benchmark accessing by default remote space. You can start an embedded space within the UI by placing a URL that would like this: /./myEmbspace and benchmark this space.

Note that the UI is not the best tool to measure an embedded space performance due-to the UI overhead. You should use the command line benchmark tool located at \gigaspaces-xap-premium-6.6.2-ga\tools\benchmark
