FIFO and PollingContainer

Hey,

I have another question subsequent to the suggestion here: http://ask.gigaspaces.org/question/29...

If I ensure that a particular class is written to one partition only and is annotated with @SpaceClass(fifoSupport = FifoSupport.ALL) then will a non-collocated PollingContainer take those objects in FIFO order? Assuming 1 concurrent consumer.

I understand that FIFO is not maintained across partitions but will the approach above ensure FIFO?

Thanks, John.

I tested this with a 2,1 partitioned-sync2backup. My object always returned '1' for it's routing value. I wrote 10k objects into the space with a client java application that terminated when it was done, and then I started a remote polling container embedded with a proxy to only that partition (/*/space_container1/space) and it processed all objects in order as expected.

Regards

John

I didn't want anyone to go to the trouble of testing it but much obliged, thank you very much! Does it have to be a non-clustered proxy?

In theory as long as all objects come from a single partition it shouldn't matter.

That's what I was thinking too. Thanks for the input.
