starting more than 10 instances at a time

When deploying a lot of partitions for a PU, the Management UI only allows 10 instances to start at a time. This becomes quite time consuming as when we need to start 200 or more partitions. Is there a way to configure the deployer to deploy more than 10 instances at a time?

The UI does not support such amount of partitions display without lot of memory.
It will need at least 2G Xmx to handle such amount.
How many machines will be hosting these 200 partitions? I suggest u to start with 50 and move to more once u will have this working.
You will need to do some proper tuning to run such large setup.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't yet figured out why the UI was hanging up until I read your reply. I found that increasing from 64 to 128 partitions on a single T5140 improves the overall response time of our services and does not saturate the CPU. I intend to find the sweet spot for # of partitions for a single T5140 and I expect it to be somewhere in the range of 64 to 512.

What's the Xms u gave the GSC and GSM? Any other jvm args u used? Special Space / cluster tuning? Shay

GSM: -Xms600m -Xmx600m

Both: -Dcom.gs.jini.config.roundTripTime=20000 -Dcom.gs.jini.config.maxLeaseDuration=40000

services.config: com.gigaspaces.management.system.cpu { /* Report every 10 mins with a sample size of 2, which means a result * will be produced every 20 mins */ reportRate = 600000; sampleSize = 2; // Default CPU utilization high threshold watermark is 99% thresholdValues = new org.jini.rio.core.ThresholdValues(0.0, 0.99); }

com.gigaspaces.management.system.memory { /* Report every 10 mins with a sample size of 2, which means a result * will be produced every 20 mins */ reportRate = 600000; sampleSize = 2; // Default Memory utilization high threshold watermark is 99% thresholdValues = new org.jini.rio.core.ThresholdValues(0.0, 0.99); }

com.gigaspaces.management.system.disk { /* Report every 60 mins with a sample size of 2, which means a result * will be produced every 120 mins */ reportRate = 3600000; sampleSize = 2; // Default Disk utilization high threshold watermark is 99% thresholdValues = new org.jini.rio.core.ThresholdValues(0.0, 0.99); enabled = false; }

These are the settings that I have modified to date.

Also, I am using 32 JVMs. So with a 128-partition space, I am
provisioning 4 partitions per JVM.
