last "n" query

I've got entries with a timestamp that I'm writing to a partitioned space (embedded in a PU with code / services) and I'm wondering how to query across the partitions to get the last "n" items by timestamp most efficiently.

You should use remoting + extended indexing with bigger/less than query.

See an example that performs count on data across multiple partitions using remoting here (ala Map Reduce implementation):
