Data Grid Research - Local Cache and Indexing [closed]

I’m doing some research for a client on different data grids – and I happened upon this research of VMWare vs. GigaSpaces, and am especially interested in the areas of local cache and indexing, where GigaSpaces seems to excel most. This is very relevant to the project I'm engaged in, and specifically I’d like to hear more details about the following: 1. How is local cache implemented? Does it update the cached data automatically? Does it return cache entries by reference and if so what happens if the user updates the reference object? 2. What is the average overhead of indexing with GigaSpaces XAP? I mean both in terms of memory and write performance
