Replication between primary and backup.

When using a partitioned space to back up the primary from my understanding only space will be backed i.e. whatever data i have at the client side will not be available in backup. Like i am incrementing a variable every time my polling container consumes a space document. This variable is not in space. So my question is when the backup will become primary then the variable wont be available in the backup and my count will be lost.

Is my understanding correct ??

Yes. Your local variable data will be lost. You need to store it in the space in this case.See:http://docs.gigaspaces.com/xap100/the-space-counters.html-------- Original message --------From: forum@ask.gigaspaces.org

Yes, only the objects in the space exist in the backup node. Your polling and notify container logic will run after the backup becomes a primary, but their state is not replicated.
