2016-06-30 13:27:20 -0500 asked a question Support for Hibernate 4.2.11

XAP 11 is using Hibernate 4.1.9 but my project is using 4.2.11. Will XAP 11 work with the later version? How can I avoid the 4.1.9 jars?

2016-06-30 10:24:15 -0500 asked a question java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.springframework.core.annotation.AnnotationUtils.isInJavaLang AnnotationPackage

I am getting this error when attempting to deploy a web application that works under XAP 9.6. It appears that the only difference is the Spring version, but I have adjusted my build environment to use 4.1.1 as provided with XAP 11.0.0.

2016-06-23 09:47:20 -0500 asked a question gs-agent.bat not creating all GSCs

I'm testing a script that was working in 9.6.2 with XAP 11.0.0 and getting weird behavior. Here are the important lines:

set XAP_HOME=%JSHOMEDIR%
set SPACE_NAME=MySpaceName
set ZONE_NAME=MyZone
set XAP_NIC_ADDRESS=127.0.0.1

@call %JSHOMEDIR%\bin\setenv.bat

set XAP_GSC_OPTIONS=-Dcom.gs.zones=%ZONE_NAME%

start /b %JSHOMEDIR%\bin\gs-agent.bat gsa.gsc 4 gsa.lus 1 gsa.gsm 1

When I run this, only one GSC is deployed, not four. Any idea why this happens?

2016-06-08 01:20:21 -0500 asked a question Why aren't environment variables not loaded by XAP 11.0.0?

I have Linux scripts that set environment variables like this:

export LOOKUPGROUPS="my-group"
export MY_ZONE="my-zone"
export GSC_JAVA_OPTIONS=-Dcom.gs.zones=${MY_ZONE}

then I start the XAP components like this:

${JSHOMEDIR}/bin/gs-agent.sh gsa.gsc 4 gsa.lus 1 gsa.gsm 1 &

This works with XAP versions 9.7.2 and 10.0.1 but not on 11.0.0. When I run the same scripts with 11.0.0, everything starts but the GSCs have a lookup group of xap-11.0.0 and no zone. Is this a known bug in XAP 11.0.0 or do I need to configure my GSCs differently? (I tried changing the config/gsa/gsc.xml file as recommended in the documentation, but that didn't work either.)

2016-06-08 01:20:20 -0500 asked a question Setting zones in GSC_JAVA_OPTIONS not working in 11

In earlier versions of XAP I was able to add -Dcom.gs.zones=ZONE_NAME to GSC_JAVA_OPTIONS, then call gs-agent.sh gsa.gsc 2 & to get two GSCs in that zone. I just tried it with XAP 11.0.0-ga and the GSCs come up but not in any zone.

Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround?
